Disaster turned into a beautiful space.
The Brief – Backyard Renovation
The brief was to take this neglected area and do a Backyard Renovation by installing garden edging, to tie in with existing garden beds, and turf the area.
Raised Garden beds built with treated pine slab edging surrounded the existing paved area. We needed to use treated pine slabs to create a flow through the new turfed area.
The client had removed an above ground pool and decking and wanted to turn this area into a usable space.
We encountered a whole in the ground, from the pool, that needed to be filled and leveled along with bricks and other debris.
After a backyard clean up, we installed garden edging, to tie into other gardens in the backyard using treated pine slabs. Decking spikes were used along with a partial “dead man technique”.
We are always happy to work in with the client and, in this case, he chose and planted some new plants himself.
The client wanted us to use Sugar Cane Mulch in the garden beds so we spread that through the new garden beds and watered it in to avoid it blowing around in the wind.
Weed spraying, hand weeding and a rubbish clean up gave us an area to work in.
High quality turf underlay was brought in, spread and levelled. The area was lightly rolled and prepared for turfing.
On this job we laid Sir Walter Buffalo turf grass. The turf was rolled to ensure good root contact with the soil and it was given its initial watering in.
The client was very happy with the end result and who could blame him? He has the backyard renovation he was looking for.
